Board of Director Nominees, 2024

London Cycle Link (LCL)’s current board of directors is putting the following candidate names forward to serve on the board, to start three-year terms in 2024.

As all London Cycle Link/Squeaky Wheel Bike Co-op members will be eligible to vote at our upcoming Annual General Meeting (AGM), we wanted to give members a chance to get to know the nominees prior to the AGM. Nominees will be invited to say a few words at the AGM prior to the vote. We are pleased to introduce the following:

Alex Kutas
Update as of March 10: Alex has withdrawn his nomination; we wish him all the best, and look forward to working together going forward.

Andrew McClenaghan

Update as of March 22: Andrew has withdrawn his nomination; we wish him all the best and look forward to working together going forward.

Julie Ryan

Julie has had extensive experience in the world of non-profits: as a co-founder and past executive director of ReForest London; as a development officer at Western University; and in her current role as community engagement coordinator at Indwell. Her skill set includes program development, fundraising, grant writing, community engagement, volunteer management and government relations. Julie believes that “cycling is a critical piece of the climate change puzzle,” and has long admired LCL’s “role in advocating for better cycling infrastructure, in educating people about cycling safety, and promoting cycling as a fun and healthy lifestyle choice.”

Joy Zhai

Joy has a master's degree in Language Learning, and is an ESL teacher at Thames Valley District School Board. Her educational background and involvement in team sports make her a critical thinker, keen communicator and team player. Joy belongs to immigrant, 2SLGBT+ and BIPOC communities, and seeks to actively participate in non-profit organizations like LCL so that “these communities can have more spaces where we feel comfortable.” Joy recognizes that LCL still lacks visibility within the city at large, and wants to change that.
