The Bicycle Play - Live Screening and Q&A

  • Somerville 630 630 Dundas Street London, ON, N5W 2Y8 Canada (map)

Join London Cycle Link and AlvegoRoot Theatre for a screening of AlvegoRoot's filmed performance of

The Bicycle Play

The evening will feature a screening of The Bicycle Play followed by an interview and Q&A session with the creators of the play, councillor Stephen Turner and Ann Bigelow (daughter of former mayor Jane Bigelow).

The Bicycle Play is a thrilling theatrical exploration of our city’s relationship and history with the bicycle. In 1869 the bicycle made its first appearance in London Ontario causing a sensation, and this city’s formative relationship with the bicycle began. This vibrant theatrical collage explores the stories of the many Londoners who have used bicycles to shape their lives and our city.

Somerville 630 (630 Dundas Street)
Friday, Nov.12
Doors open at 6:30. Show starts at 7:00 p.m.

Tickets: By Donation. Suggested Donation Range $10 to $15. Register at www.londoncyclelink.ca/the-bicycle-play or by emailing info@londoncyclelink.ca.

Transit:
Several LTC bus routes run near this location: 2, 7, 16, 20, and 94.

Parking:

For bikes—use any of the ‘fencing’ that is at the front of the building. They don’t have any bike racks yet (with the construction still going on).

For cars—the parking lot at the corner of Queen’s and Adelaide Street is the best one. You can access this from Queen’s or Adelaide (heading north on Adelaide, just past Dundas Street and before Banting House - there is an access point).

Doors: We will have an usher at the back door of the building (on the east side) to let you in from there so that you don’t need to walk around to the front. Look for the side door to be open and a volunteer will be there. You can also come in the front doors if you are coming from Dundas Street. Unfortunately the street isn’t open yet, but there are sidewalks now!

Proof of Vaccination: In accordance with the provincial law we will require proof of vaccine and ID to match, as well as face coverings.

Food and drink: There is a cash bar. There will be one or two food vendors in the building open (Momo’s Nepalese curry; and Bella’s Korean food). We will also be selling homemade, fresh potato chips. Debit, credit and cash acceptable.
