London Cycle Link is a member-supported, not-for-profit organization. As such, we rely on volunteer efforts to make things happen. Volunteering is a great way to meet other community members, share and gain skills, and support cycling in London. Please apply if there is something you'd be interested in trying out.
A Bicycle Valet is like a coat check for bikes. From time to time we provide bike valet services at community events. Bike valet volunteers keep watch of bikes while the bike owners attend the events. This is a great way to connect with other community members and help provide a very appreciated service, by keeping bikes safe.
Educating the public about London Cycle Link, Squeaky Wheel Bike Co-op and our other projects and campaigns, is a big part of what we do. We are always looking for people to help by tabling at events. This job involves talking to people about London Cycle Link; encouraging people to sign up for memberships and for our monthly newsletter; and generally engaging the public about their cycling experiences and concerns.
Community bike rides, often for special events, are fun ways to get people together, enjoy some fresh air and get some exercize. In order for rides to be safe however, marshals are required. Marshals keep riders together as a group and make sure everyone is riding safely and in the right direction. This is a really important job and should be taken seriously. People who are very comfortable on their bikes and have strong knowledge of the rules of the road make great marshals.
Advocacy is a central part of why we're here. If you're interested in working for improved bicycle infrastructure, cycling awareness and education, and a strong voice for cyclists at City Hall, we want to hear from you! If you have ideas about how to make things happen, or if you like engaging respectfully with business owners, residents and politicians about cycling-related issues, join one of our campaigns.
